How to type

Sit like this

• Sit tall. Feet on the floor.
• Curve your fingers. Let your wrists float.
• Feel the bumps on F and J. Those bumps are home.
• Keep your eyes on the screen.

The five steps

• Grip finds the new keys.
• Words puts the keys into real words.
• Control adds Shift, capitals, and marks.
• Sentences is a full line. Accuracy first, then speed.
• Test is timed. The clock starts when you type and pauses if you leave the page.

More ways to practice

• Advanced opens for a grade after every step in that grade has the accuracy goal.
• Old Testament and New Testament are the King James Version, split into short passages. Psalms is in the Old Testament. The NIV is copyrighted, so it is not included.
• The Red Letters of Jesus are every word Jesus spoke in the King James Version. Those sayings are shown in red.
• Bible quiz is a set of short questions from the King James Version. You see the answer as you go, and the score is saved.
• Dr Arome Osayi is a four-level study path. You type King James passages beside the topics in his public catalog. The guides are not his sermons. The messages stay on draromeosayi.org.

Stars

• Finish the line for 1 star.
• Hit the accuracy goal for 2 stars.
• On sentences and tests, also hit the speed goal for 3 stars.

WPM means words per minute. One word is five letters. Backspace steps back. A wrong key does not move forward. Holding a key does not repeat.

For a capital, hold Shift with the pinky of the other hand, then tap the letter. If Caps Lock is on, turn it off.

Sign in so each exercise is saved to your account. A teacher with the instructor role can review that work. Your username is the first letter of your first name plus your last name, and the temporary password arrives by email.
